Elegantly produced history of the first railway on the present territory of Lithuania, the Turmantas-Vilnius-Marcinkonys part of the St Petersburg-Warsaw railway and the branch to Virbalis on the border with Prussia, both opened in 1862. The focus is on the stations and bridges, with a detailed account of the buildings at each station, illustrated with photographs, maps, track plans and coloured drawings. Motive power is not dealt with.
Vol I deals with the main line Turmantas-Vilnius-Marcinkonys. 200 pages A4, hb in slip case.
Vol II deals with the Lentvaris-Kaunas-Virbalis line. 188 pages A4, hb in slip case.
