The final volume of four to catalogue all steam locomotives of the German state railways since 1925 when the numbering plan was adopted. There is a short description with photograph of each class, and the emphasis is on lists of the renumberings, rebuildings and fate of each engine.
This volume covers a large variety of locomotive types: classes 60-79 were passenger tank locos, 80-91 goods and shunting locos. It also covers the locos of the private railways of the GDR, nationalised in 1950. 560 pages A4, ca 400 photographs, hb.
