The Locomotives of Thailand

R Ramaer

The Royal State Railways of Thailand started as a standard gauge line and went through a dual gauge phase to emerge as a unified metre gauge system in the late 1920s. Quite a number of the older engines were converted to metre gauge after WWI. The RSR was also a pioneer in diesel traction, acquiring its first diesel locomotives in 1928. The author describes all the steam and diesel types used by the RSR and analyses their design and operation in relation to the traffic requirements, geographical conditions and fuel available. Published 1984. 88 pages 17x25 cm, 55 photographs, 49 line drawings, sb.

The covers of the remaining copies are slightly bent.
