Narrow-gauge Supply Railways in Estonia 1895-1975

In tsarist Russia, supply railways was the term applied to narrow gauge railways, which would supplement the broad gauge railways. Both state and private capital built narrow gauge railways on the present Estonian territory. Armoured trains were employed during the War of Independence 1918-20, but during the Cold War the narrow gauge railways were abandoned, as the Soviet army found them inadequate.
