Phil Girdlestone
A Journey with Steam to the End of the World. The author spent 45 years working on steam locomotives, always trying to improve them, and was in frequent contact with others doing the same, notably Dante Porta and David Wardale. Whilst his whole career is covered here, he focuses largely on his time on the Ffestiniog Railway in North Wales, and the Alfred County Railway in South Africa.
The book has been designed as a companion to Phil Girdlestone’s Camels and Cadillacs published by Stenvalls and out of print. 136 pages A4, well ill, hb.
