A thorough technical and historical description (in Russian) of the Russian Class S 2-6-2. It tells the story from the planning stages to the survival of S 245 (C.245) and its return to running order. Outside the Soviet Union, this class has found some use in Finland during the WW II. There are full comparative technical details to other Russian passenger locomotives, list of running numbers as built to then independently operated railways, allocation in selected years and other relevant historical information. The technical description is good and a good selection of photos show most, if not all, variations within the class. 176 pages 21x28 cm, 243 photos and other illustrations, hb.
