Special issue of Maquetren on bilevel coaches in Spain. The Almansa-Valencia-Tarragona introduced bilevel coaches as early as 1857, the Norte in 1914, but it was not until 1987 that RENFE ordered bilevel coaches to cope with the increasing commuter traffic around Madrid and Barcelona.
