Die Eisenbahnfahrzeuge des bedeutendsten schlesischen Hersteller. 2017. The construction of rolling stock started in Breslau as early as 1840, locomotive building twenty years later. The Linke-Hofmann Company was formed in 1912. Until 1930 more than 3.100 locomotives were built (the exact number is debated). That year the Company gave up building locomotives but continued with rolling stock. Towards the end of WWII all machinery, materials and skilled personell were evacuated to the Harz, and after the war production was resumed at Salzgitter. At Breslau, now Wroclaw in Poland, PAFAWAG reestablished the factory.
This is the first of two volumes, a history of the works and reproduction of a large number of photographs from sales catalogues. About half show steam locomotives for German and foreign customers, the rest electric and internal combustion motive power and rolling stock for customers around the World. 176 pages A4, hb.
The second volume is a detailed works list, not available at the moment.
