The illustrated Lives of the Great Composers. Omnibus 1996. 145 sidor 17x24cm, ill. i s/v, bibliografi, hft. Utgivarens beskrivning:

Composer, pianist and conductor, Benjamin Britten was one of the most distinctive and original figures in 2Oth Century music. His compositions range from the operas Billy Budd, Peter Grimes and Death In Venice to film-scores such as W H Auden's Night Mail... from sacred songs like his much-loved A Ceremony Of Carols to symphonies, suites and The Young Person' Guide To The Orchestra.

Associated for many years with the eminent tenor Peter Pears, Britten was the principal creator of the Aldeburgh Festival and English Opera Group.

He won many honours internationally, and was created a life peer in 1976. The Britten-Pears School for Advanced Musical Studies at the Snape Maltings is one of many enduring memorials to Brittens life and work.
