This book celebrates the 150 year-old Finnish railway history. The anniversary not only offered everyday life, but also festivities, and above all, an experience of what it was like in the past and how the railways have evolved.
The Railways' year of celebration culminated with the 150th anniversary main celebration held at the Finnish Railway Museum in Hyvinkää om 11-12 August 2012. At the time, the Hyvinkää-Hanko line was taken over by nostalgic trains.
The book is edited by Kimmo Pyrhönen, who is a public transport historian, photographer and enthusiast in the field.
